In the mission of becoming a model of digitizing, archiving ethnic patterns and inspiring young people, Ethnicity accompanies and supports young people of FPT University to build and establish a youth project called "GenZ weaves ZenG" as an "extended arm" to continue and spread to young people to learn about national culture and the meaning of brocade patterns; contributing to respecting national identity, enhancing the role of local communities and adding creative materials from national cultural inspiration with the "new design language" of young people.
Project initialization:
Culture is the source that nourishes the nation's soul. Today, the responsibility for preserving cultural values rests on the shoulders of the future generation that owns the country. With youth, potential and knowledge of the digital age, applying technology to create a cultural storage network is the new path for Vietnamese young people on the journey to find their national culture.❤️🔥
With the message "From Weaving Yarns to Digital Streaks", "GenZ weaves ZenG" is a communication and art creation project applying digitalization of Zeng patterns - a type of brocade of the Ta Oi ethnic minority, locally. In A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province, Zeng weaving was registered as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2016. The project contributes to preserving and spreading the unique cultural value of weaving. Zeng, through a media campaign, deploys publications with technological features based on Bitmap and Pixel styles from research and precise vectorization of threads like the way Ethnicity has stored, to retain creativity, the meaning of patterns and the "soul" of quintessential textiles; combined with many other forms of art and a series of vivid visual experience activities💥
Not only stopping at raising young people's awareness about heritage preservation, the "GenZ weaves ZenG" project also aims to spread and encourage the community and the young generation to learn and research about culture. Zeng weaving in particular and Vietnamese culture in general, through extremely interesting and valuable content and modules🥰
🤩Let the "digital streaks" of technology preserve each cultural "thread", are you ready to accompany "GenZ weaving ZenG" on the journey of nurturing and inheriting the source of Vietnamese culture?

Vietnam is home to 54 distinct ethnic groups, among which 53 are considered ethnic minorities. A significant number of these groups have long-standing traditions of brocade weaving. Each brocade fabric is a testament not only to its high aesthetic quality but also to the history and culture of the nation or country in which it was created.
